How long are you using your iPhone: 4 months
My first computer was a MacPlus. After my 4th or 5th Apple product I jumped ship and went PC. I was sick of buying soon to be orphaned computers or being some poor idiot who just paid too much to be a beta tester. I came back into the fold with iPods and now the iPhone 3G.
Well, I’m still a beta tester. Yes, I do like, maybe soon to love, the iPhone. Yet, let us get real. First, if you are still using a PC you have some issues to deal with. Everyone in the professional world has a calendar, contact list, todo list, etc. on a desktop/laptop. You don’t sit there and enter this kind of stuff on your PDA/iPhone. So, you are going to want to sync it off your computer to your iPhone. I use Palm OS for this task. Palm still commands 20-25% of the market. Well you would think that Apple would have made this an easy task. No, you have to sync your Palm info to Outlook and then sync Outlook to your iPhone. I’m surprised they didn’t make you also hop on one foot and rub your tummy to do this. Hey! And what if you want to use Hotmail? Now why would Apple want to make that easy? Maybe b/c Hotmail has over 10 times more customers than gmail. Also hotmail is the most used web based mail service. Using hotmail on your iPhone is almost painful. Using gmail is sexy, fast, and elegant. Why the hell couldn’t they get hotmail on there? Because Hotmail is owned by Microsoft. Almost like dealing with obnoxious kids in the sandbox. If these two elements interfaced, like grownups, both iPhones and Hotmail would have increased traffic. But no.
The camera on the iPhone is almost funny bad. No video and no emailing that snapshot. Even my free Nokia cheap telephone could do that. You have to be out of your mind to have a smart phone with a camera which doesn’t allow for emailing the snapshot.
Now who was asleep at the wheel when they came up with a phone which has a speaker for handsfree listening which is so soft? Dare you to try and use this speakerphone while driving.
Bluetooth? You can not use it for much. Can’t link computer to phone and a whole host of other things. Can’t link between a non Apple phone. So if I wanted to send a pic from my Nokia to my iPhone….forget it.
Reading your old SIMS data. Go dunk your head in water. You can do some crazy loco insane stuff but at the end of the day you just end up retyping all your contacts in. Again, even a $9.99 phone can read data off an old SIMS chip that you transfer from one phone to another.
The iPhone is great. Yet, at 200-300 dollars with your new AT&T account, and an extra $30 per month fee, you would think they had some “little” things worked out. Instead, you are paying top top dollar for 70% of a phone.
Not to worry folks….if Apple stays true to form, this phone will be “old” in less than a year, Apple will be onto its 6th Gen. by X-mas 2009, and we will have all served to pump up Apple shares and act as dumb butt beta testers.

LOL. truly enjoyed this. kudos for your added humor. Good heads up, i was honestly considering getting an iphone. clearly i need to ask more questions and check out my other options
