How long are you using your iPhone: 5 months
I am on my way to purchase a Treo 750. The iphone has been nothing but trouble since day 1. When I ordered my iphone online I was told I would receive it in 6 weeks. Luckily it came in 5 weeks for 5 days after receipt of the iphone it completely died. When I tried to turn it on there was just that blank screen staring back at me. I took it in to a local apple store and they said that if I had brought it in 2 days later I would have had to buy a new phone. What? I have only had the phone for 5 days. They told me that they have been told to go by the sales date and not the receipt date. Hmmm….ok I dodged a bullet there. They proceeded to make sure all my numbers were saved and switched out the card to the new phone. When I got home I went in to call someone and “poof” no numbers. So I went in search of my old mobile phone that I had given to my 2 year old to play with. I recharged it and spent the next hour copying phone numbers onto the iphone.
3 months after my purchase I dropped the phone from about 2 feet. Shame on me. So this is not apples fault this is mine. The screen completely shattered. This was also around the time that the price for the phones dropped. So I called in for a service order. I was told that the phone HAD to be shipped for repairs and the the cost for the screen was $275. WHAT!!! The phone sells for $399 now. Ok…so what choice do I have. No complaints about the service request as it was handled in a very timely manner.
Are you ready for this. This weekend my phone was in a small compartment of my purse. When I took it out….the screen was shattered once again. I am into this phone for $750 and now I must cry uncle before it is $1000. The phone itself has great features and if I money weren’t an option I might keep it. But I am a single mother with a demanding job that requires I have Internet and email access. I am not willing to put another cent into an obviously flawed product.
