How long are you using your iPhone: 2 years

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): 3g 16Gb

I am not satisfied with my iphone at all. I was not pleased with the applications, (almost all of them would freeze or flimflam when in use). Then for some reason my iphone stopped working all together. The only thing I can think of that may have caused this malfunction would be when I dropped it in my pool. I do not see why this would cause my phone to stop working altogether. DO NOT PURCHASE AN IPHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are dumb.

How long are you using your iPhone: one month

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): 3gs

My husband loves the iPhone 3gs. His is less than a month old and he decided I needed one too. He purchased one for me as a birthday present. I really don’t need or want one at this time. Nobody told him there is a restocking fee. I didn’t take it out of the box or touch it.
So be very sure if you purchase an iPhone for someone else that they want it, or your choice will be a restocking fee or keep the phone!
Great phone for those who will benefit.

How long are you using your iPhone: 4 days

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): 3gs 16gb

fantastic phone. i’ve been putting off buying one for a year or so now, but finally caved in to temptation. I’m so glad I did, I’ve had allsorts of phones over the years and this wipes the floor with all of them. Its actually quite hard to say why, but everything about it has nice little touches. I would however bin the earphones that come included and buy a third party pair, the ones I bought are dennon, a little pricey but really worth every penny. Top phone, well done apple.

iPhone review: Stopped working after 20 days

How long are you using your iPhone: only 20 days!

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): 3GS 16GB

My iPhone stopped working after 20 days! I went hiking yesterday late afternoon; when I got back to my car (long story short) I realized my car wouldn’t start. I tried to call for help and my phone was DEAD! I never dropped the phone or anything. If it wasn’t for a friend being there, I’d be stranded at a Sate Park (they close at 7:00PM) without being able to get help. FRIGHTENING!!!

iPhone review: 10 Best iPhone applications

The iPhone can be very fun to use, but are you getting the most of it? There are many applications that can increase your iPhone fun and they are only a few button presses (or rather screen touches) away from being yours. The iPhone app store is something of a tech-geek’s candy store and most people can get lost in it, so what would it be like if you knew what the best iPhone apps are, so that you can go straight to the source? Here are a few ideas to get you well on your way to iPhone app heaven:

There are apps for every individual taste, but some will appeal to everybody, like, for instance, iDoodle.

iDoodle

Everyone doodles to waste time, to de-stress or simply because they feel like it, and now your iPhone can give you the perfect environment to do so.

Calorie Counter

For the calorie conscious, you have the Calorie Counter, which lets you calculate the exact number of calories you’ve had in a day, the amount of calories you need in a day, and the number of calories you should have if you’re trying to lose or gain weight. Pretty nifty, isn’t it?

BarCheck

For the price conscious, the BarCheck application can represent the answer to their every question. If you want to buy something and are wondering if you couldn’t get a better deal someplace else, you can insert the bar code number of the item you are looking to buy into your iPhone and find out the price for that same item in various online stores, including Amazon.

Can I Drive Yet?

For the partying crowd, the answer to the question: Can I Drive Yet? also finds and answer in their iPhone. Insert the number and type of drinks, your age, height and weight into the iPhone and find out if you’re legally allowed to drive. This is a very good way to check if you’ve had one too many, or not.

Games: Sudoku, Castle Feud, SpeedType, Mines…

Do you like to play games on your phone? Game playing is made a lot easier, not to mention prettier with the iPhone, and you have a wide selection to choose from, such as Sudoku, Castle Feud (a multiplayer game that lets you disembody your opponents), SpeedType (which puts your typing speed to test), and Mines (which needs no further presentation). Of course, these are only a few of the games available for the iPhone, and it’s very likely that you will find something that fits your own preference, if the ones we listed don’t seem inviting enough.

iBay and Budget Buster

Are you a shopaholic? You can either stay in touch with any kind of eBay activity you might be interested in with the help of iBay, or you can stay in touch with reality with the help of Budget Buster, which helps you keep an eye on your expenses by day, week and month. If that’s not going to get you to tone down your expenses, nothing will.

These are just a few of the fun and interesting apps you can enjoy on your iPhone. Good luck making the most of your iPhone experience!

How long are you using your iPhone: 5.5 months

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): Iphone 3G 16Gb

This is long but the short story is that you just don’t want this phone unless you can pay to replace it!

Yes, all of the cool things you hear about the Iphone 3G are true. All of the email sync problems are true as well. No you cant copy and paste cant do video blah blah blah. Fine. I can live with the good and bad of a product i research and choose to buy.

What I cannot live with (well I guess I have no choice) is what is clearly a scam. And if you own an Iphone you are likely a victim already. How does it work you ask?

Like this. On the outside of the phone is a moisture detector. Yes I know many companies have these now… just not physically on the outside of the phone. Now your phone breaks and you make you appointment to go to an Apple store after spending several hours talking with a tech, rebooting rebuilding, standing on your head blah blah blah. the Tech has told you to go to the store or exchange via mail. Mail is a 7-10 day process so I drove 60 miles to an Iphone store. Oh so polite they are… ist enough to creep you out (I just don’t buy that people are that happy… especially after I got finished they shouldn’t have been smiling, but I am getting ahead of myself). Well at first I am greeted handed off to an second person who takes me to my very own “genius” (being a professor I find that a very loose use of the term). The genius promptly gets my serial number then goes for the stethoscope, looks into the small slit behind the power/data port PCB and shakes his head. “sorry sir you have dropped this in or stilled water on your phone, this voids the warranty.”

Well after escalating the “I did not expose this to water” argument to a point where a customer had to remind me that his kids were in the store (that has never happened in my life) I finally left with my broken phone in hand and another 1 and a half hour drive home in front of me.

Needless to say I certainly did not spill or otherwise expose the phone to water in the 5.5 months I owned it. Quite frankly of all of the cell phones I have had in the 15-20 years I have been using cell phones, this is the one phone I took the greatest care of and yet it is the ONLY phone that has ever failed. As anyone who owns one will tell you, its just too cool to not be careful with. And to further drive the point home, I am a neuroscientist/electrophysiologist. For a living I work with very sensitive electronics that have to come into very close proximity to water and are so sensitive that I can frequently detect lightning strikes from approaching storms when they are 50 miles or more away. So I am fairly confident I know how to handle sensitive electronics; Just not the Iphone.

Subsequently I have completely taken the phone apart just to try to convince myself that I did somehow get it wet; there was no evidence of the phone ever having water on the inside. There was a lot of lint in the phone that I would imagine would have clotted up had it been submersed. I can tell you however that there are several moisture sensors in and on the external surface of the phone; at least 2 on the main board, two in the plug socket (1 external) and one in the headphone jack (also external) at the very bottom. only the one that was at the jack was red.

How could this happen? Simple; condensation. Put a cold phone into a warmer and even moderately humid environment and you will get condensation. This IMO is a clear scam on Apples part. They know these phones are going to fail, mine did in just over 5 months and there is no evidence that water had anything to do with it except a sensor that is directly exposed to the outside environment. I have now heard or read of several of these examples (I am sure you can find some on this site). I have had ATT tech support tell me that you should never take the phone into a bathroom or locker room and yes I have had ATT tech support tell me that he deals with more Iphone related complaints than any other phone “I deal with broken Iphones all day long.” Now of course the funny part of the story is that ATT cant even sell me a replacement Iphone because I haven’t owned it long enough to qualify for a contract renewal!

So after spending more time than the phone is worth, I will spend 300 dollars to get out of my contract with ATT and switch phone services; I will never own an Apple product again.

I sincerely hope that this helps you consider

How long are you using your iPhone: 2 Weeks!!!!!

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): 3G 8Gig

Just so you know….DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN IPHONE!!!!!!!! The phone I bought 2 weeks ago crashed, took a shit and completely locked up on me today. I thought, ok, maybe a lemon phone and went to the AT&T Store. They tried to restart it, which I already had several times, and continued to tell me they could NOT replace the phone at the store. She laughed and asked me if I was going to Denver anytime soon as there is an Apple store there. She told me that if I called the Apple phone number they would overnight me a brand new phone and I would send this one back. I left pissed off. I got back to work and called the number. They guy on the phone told me they could go ahead and replace the phone. I asked if I would be getting a new phone. He said it would either be new or refurbished. I said no, that I had PAID for a brand new one only 2 weeks ago and I expected to recieve a brand new one in return. He said there was no way for him to be sure of what I was recieving. I told him it was bull so he put me on hold for 10 min.

The next “jerk” got on the phone an told me I would get a new phone. I said ok. He then told me that they would send me a bo with shipping lables that I should get in 5 to 7 days. Then put the phone in the box, send it back and then they would replace it then. Leaving me till Monday with no means of communication. They said there was one other option which was to hold the full retail amount (around $400 to $450) on a credit card, charge me $30 and then they could overnight me a phone. BULL ********!!!! I am returning the phone tomorrow and I already rejoined Verizon. They have actually acted like they care. Sorry, I know you wanted an iPhone, but with not having an Apple store closer than 400 miles, the iPhone is NOT a reliable source of commuincation. Bad a** phone, but bull s**t service. If you need to get ahold of me, just Email, send a letter, smoke signal or something else cause I have NO F*****G PHONE!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!

How long are you using your iPhone: 90 days

iPhone model (3g,8Gb,16Gb…etc): 3G

While on a trip out west, my I phone would not connect a call despite having full 5 bars of service showing. When a call was attempted, it would connect and then promptly drops the call. All bars of service disapear. When calling the Apple and the AT&T assistance line I received NO HELP! Instead they asked if I had a paper clip to remove the sim card. The I was told that I should go to a AT&T store. When I found one, the agent looked at the phone and said “hey that\’s nice. How do you turn it on?” When I found a AT&T store that could look at the phone, they told me the phone was a problem and I had to take to an apple store. I was told that I could move my sim card to another phone if I had an old phone. I was 800 miles from home and and old phone! I had to purchase a $49.95 flip phone to have the ability to talk to someone! Then when I returned home I contacted the AT&T office only to find out that I had to go to the Apple store 100 miles away! Oh yea! I had to make an APPOINTMENT! DO they think they are doctors? What a crock! NEVER PURCHASE ONE OF THESE! There are better phones for less and the local service provider can handle repairs without making an appointment!

How long are you using your iPhone: 1yr 4 months

I had my Iphone stolen/lost on Feb 7, police report filed, went to the Apple store Feb 8 and was told due to a recent policy change I could not buy a Iphone even at full price, this was At&T\’s responce as well, today 5 days later I have been told I can buy a phone at a subsidized price. My challenge to anyone considering the Iphone to verify their replacement policy.

How long are you using your iPhone: 4 months

My first computer was a MacPlus. After my 4th or 5th Apple product I jumped ship and went PC. I was sick of buying soon to be orphaned computers or being some poor idiot who just paid too much to be a beta tester. I came back into the fold with iPods and now the iPhone 3G.

Well, I’m still a beta tester. Yes, I do like, maybe soon to love, the iPhone. Yet, let us get real. First, if you are still using a PC you have some issues to deal with. Everyone in the professional world has a calendar, contact list, todo list, etc. on a desktop/laptop. You don’t sit there and enter this kind of stuff on your PDA/iPhone. So, you are going to want to sync it off your computer to your iPhone. I use Palm OS for this task. Palm still commands 20-25% of the market. Well you would think that Apple would have made this an easy task. No, you have to sync your Palm info to Outlook and then sync Outlook to your iPhone. I’m surprised they didn’t make you also hop on one foot and rub your tummy to do this. Hey! And what if you want to use Hotmail? Now why would Apple want to make that easy? Maybe b/c Hotmail has over 10 times more customers than gmail. Also hotmail is the most used web based mail service. Using hotmail on your iPhone is almost painful. Using gmail is sexy, fast, and elegant. Why the hell couldn’t they get hotmail on there? Because Hotmail is owned by Microsoft. Almost like dealing with obnoxious kids in the sandbox. If these two elements interfaced, like grownups, both iPhones and Hotmail would have increased traffic. But no.

The camera on the iPhone is almost funny bad. No video and no emailing that snapshot. Even my free Nokia cheap telephone could do that. You have to be out of your mind to have a smart phone with a camera which doesn’t allow for emailing the snapshot.

Now who was asleep at the wheel when they came up with a phone which has a speaker for handsfree listening which is so soft? Dare you to try and use this speakerphone while driving.

Bluetooth? You can not use it for much. Can’t link computer to phone and a whole host of other things. Can’t link between a non Apple phone. So if I wanted to send a pic from my Nokia to my iPhone….forget it.

Reading your old SIMS data. Go dunk your head in water. You can do some crazy loco insane stuff but at the end of the day you just end up retyping all your contacts in. Again, even a $9.99 phone can read data off an old SIMS chip that you transfer from one phone to another.

The iPhone is great. Yet, at 200-300 dollars with your new AT&T account, and an extra $30 per month fee, you would think they had some “little” things worked out. Instead, you are paying top top dollar for 70% of a phone.

Not to worry folks….if Apple stays true to form, this phone will be “old” in less than a year, Apple will be onto its 6th Gen. by X-mas 2009, and we will have all served to pump up Apple shares and act as dumb butt beta testers.
